Meet The ARTIST

FAEQUA UNIZA RAHMAN

I live to create! But after college, I thought creating art wasn't the "adult" thing to do. Follow my journey as I re-discover my inner artist and share my work with the world. When not making art, I'm an Architect, Sculptor, Photographer and Graphic Designer.

My love towards colors and canvas has started giving me a new identity. The peace that I get by expressing my thoughts through a piece of paper or a canvas, is beyond anything and irreplaceable. Oil, acrylic, sketch, and mixed-media - all the genres have always attracted me equally. Though professionally, I am an architect, art has always been a major part throughout my life. Being born in a country like Bangladesh, naturally one of the most colorful and vibrant countries in the world, I found myself enjoying playing with colors and brushes from my childhood. Playing with the vibrancy of colors started intriguing my love towards art more. Though having a different academic and professional career slowed me down in practicing art lately, but now I want to rediscover myself again through the strokes of my brushes and evolve my imagination through sparkling colors.

I moved to Columbia, SC from Dhaka, Bangladesh on February of 2017. Shifting from one part of the world to another, made me mesmerized and more inclined towards mother nature. While watching the green and yellow landscape of mustard fields back in my country was my favorite, just like that watching the pink and white cherry blossoms covering all the sidewalks became my favorite here. Rather facing a cultural shock, discovering different color patterns of nature from place to place has given my soul peace and satisfaction. I am looking forward to enriching my knowledge of art more and thus express my forever love for mother nature on canvas.
